"I do a dangerous job with a geek's brain and am therefore frequently confused."

What began as a photographic companion to my now defunct blog (entitled Women, Fire & Dangerous Things) about my career as a firefighter has morphed into a chronicle of my newest journey as a father.

For 26 years now I have been in the fire service, the last 22 as a career firefighter for a suburban Maryland FD. I was a paramedic for 15 years and currently serve as a Master Firefighter.
The yin to that yang is my love of Lucasfilm and associated costuming.

After many unsuccessful attempts at finding True Love (the greatest thing in the world, except for a nice MLT, mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean... They're so perky. I love that) on January 19, 2007, by pure dumb luck and a hundred coincidences lining up, I met a truly wonderful woman who became my wife and the mother of my son (but not necessarily in that order).
