I have been a keen photographer ever since my brother, sister and myself were all given second hand cameras by our Aunt Freda. To me she gave a big Box Brownie and I still have the album with my very first photos. They include some photos of rhododendrons and bluebells, and my best friend, Mark Thomas.
The film was a on a roll of paper and, of course, was black and white. I joined the Photographic Society at school and loved the darkroom with its enlarger, trays of developer and fix, the smells, the red light. So atmospheric.
Now I am onto my 4th digital camera, a Canon 40D. Combined with an imac and Apple's Aperture software, the world of photography has blossomed and I thoroughly enjoy it.
Flickr is a wonderful medium for sharing photos. There are just not enough hours in the day for all the photography I want to do.
My aim is to concentrate on people and places, and to that end I tend to hunt out events in Yorkshire and try to take that elusive and 'perfect' photo.
