Hey, I've realised it's about time I updated my profile, as some things have changed.... the most important being a NEW CAMERA!!!! And boy do I love my new camera... having a real BUZZ with it, especially with capturing BEES!!

At the end of February 07, my Sony Cybershot stopped working on me.. the lens got stuck, so I was without a camera for a couple of weeks... terrible withdrawals!! :-)

BUT, on the 13th March, I was able to purchase my NEW one, a Panasonic TZ1.... tremendous value for money!! For anyone looking for a middle of the range camera, under $500, I would highly recommend this one. What I like about it is that it has a great zoom and is compact, so I can take it anywhere with me. Wonderful buy!!

Anyhow, enough about cameras... here's a bit about me:

Graphic artist from Oz, mum of 2 teenagers, and wife of a wonderful husband, who also is an artist, but maybe NOT so crazy!!.. except about surfing!!

You may notice from the pics, I LOVE variety. I especially love the TINY things, but I also love the BIG things. I'll snap anything that's worth snapping!!... 'cause I love ALL of life!! That's what I love about digital cameras... doesn't matter how many shots you take! You don't have to pay for dud photos!!

And something else struck me a while ago. Thinking about the camera and taking photos of God's amazing world, it occurred to me, that this little camera is an instrument of worship!! I can capture the wonders of God's creation... and then say to the world, "Hey! Look what my Heavenly Dad made!!"

Boy, how things change!! A couple of months ago, I said, "I did love to draw more than taking pics, but I have to rethink that now, because, especially since the new camera, photography has become so much fun... don't want to draw at the moment!! But we all go through phases! Anyhow, when I do draw, my favourite mediums are watercolour pencils and ball-point pen."

As I said about phases, now it's June 07, and would you believe there is something I'm enjoying MORE than photography. I guess the "newness" of the camera has worn off, and I'm learning to master it, so the excitement has waned a bit. I guess that is good for everyone's sanity here at home. Anyhow, NOW the writing bug has bit, and I just HAVE to write. So now i"m a bustling blonde blogger. :-)

But that means less photos! :-( Though now with photos, I'm aiming more for quality and not quantity. So more EXPLORE, here we come!! :-)

Another thing I'm doing different is groups. Hadn't been that interested before. But a need arose, so I started a couple of private Flickr groups. Great way to get to know some fabulous Flickr folk! (Say that one fast!!) :-)

(Just an update on groups [Sept.15, 07]...
I've just changed the way I'm involved in groups. I was joining nearly every group I was invited to. Then I found that there were way too many to keep up with. So this past week, I quit most of them and have stayed with the ones I'm really interested in. The ones I can contribute to in a positive way, and also learn a lot. My special group interests are nature and the environment, Christian groups, and creative photography, art and graphic design groups. So if you have a group like that and you want to invite me, I'll probably join. If the group doesn't fit those criteria, then I probably won't join. Okay?
Oh, one more type of group... As laughter is the best medicine, I love ones that give a good laugh... I'm looking for a good one of those.)

And hey, Flickr is such a wonderful community, and I think it's the people I like more than anything. Much more than taking and looking at pics!! I thank the Lord for the wonderful friends I've made here. Bless you all!

And a thought: God made us human BEINGS, not human DOINGS!!! So BEING who God made us to BE, is more important than our DOING!!
