I've been a technology geek ever since I can remember (so probably back to when dad let me play with the huge dot matrix printers and change the big magnetic tapes on the computers at his work) so when it came to photography, I was never really into it until it was digital.

I have always found a way to personalise the technology I have, so it was important that the first digital camera I bought had manual controls. That was a Minolta Dimage Z1 and I really enjoyed learning how to use aperture and shutter priority modes with that.

I took the plunge recently into DSLR with a Nikon d90 along with a 50mm 1.4 prime and a 18-200mm VR zoom and the great SB600 flash. This new toy (along with much help from Ken Rockwell) is allowing me to learn a huge amount and start to really get creative.

I'm still really only capturing moments rather than setting up scenes, but that seems to be what I enjoy most right now. My favourite and most often photographed subject is my now 13 year old Jack Russell "Arthur". I'm also enjoying shooting sunsets and sky in general, and I shot my first wedding recently too.

Workflow at the moment consists of the incredibly simple to use Picasa with plugins for Flickr and Facebook. Any more detailed work happens in Photoshop CS5.
