I'm a lucky woman; I work as an independent consultant to a number of open source projects related to the public sector. I spend my days helping government (state, local and federal) adopt open source software and development methodologies. I write and have done international case studies in this area. I'm also an adviser to a number of non-profits who use open source software at their core to carry out their mission in the public interest. I think it's important, and for me, great fun. I do a fair amount of public speaking and like to use my love of photography and the people I meet to help promote their mission too.
