Since 2008, I live in Hildesheim, a little city near to Hanover in Nortehrn Germany.

In general, I’m interested in every day’s life, work and periods of change.

A don’t have any formation as a photograph, but for some years, I took all the photos for the articles I published in different journals. Photography, for me, is a sort of searching and documenting the past in a special kind of way. What are the stories behind the photos, what are we able to reconstruct, what do we need to invent to get an idea of the past?

One of my most important projects was to visit the inhabitants of la Ciotat in Southern France, near Marseille. First I came there in 1998, ten years after the old shipyard was closed very abruptly. I found industrial ruins and still about 50 workers who tried to keep the place alive by strikes and cooperation with enterprises interested in settling there. I came back there regularly and so I assisted the renouveau of the shipyard which specialised in the maintenance of luxury yachts. A choise of photos I took there are exposed on flickr.
