About me:
Greetings my name is Madhumangala Das, a travelling monk from Cape Town currently based here in San Diego (America's finest city) on the West Coast of California. I am an initiated disciple of His Holiness, Bhakti Tirtah Swami Maharaj. I am a bhakti yoga practioner, celibate monk and a representitive of the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT) the world's largest publisher of books concerning Krishna and the philosophy, religion, and culture of the Vedic tradition of India. The BBT especially emphasizes the works of the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition. Its publications include original scriptural works, translated into more than 51 languages, and books that discuss and explain these traditional texts. For the past ten years I have been travelling in India and in Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Mozambique. In east Africa, Kenya: Nairobi, Mombassa and Kisimu. Uganda: Kampala. Central Africa: Kigali and Bukavu in the Central Republic of the Congo. I love conneting with people and to know what makes them tick - I also have a very enquiring mind. When I was a kid and visitors would come to our house, they would hardly have time to converse with my folks. Sometimes they would say: "Sit down, you ask too many questions." I have always been a compulsive letter writer, infact, when I start I can realy get going! So writing comes naturaly to me.
