I first started shooting seriously about 2.5 years ago on a trip to Munich with my mom. In 2008, I took about 10 months off and became very passionate about shooting. I am a former product designer and mechanical engineer, and I think the appeal of photography for me is based on its structured creativity...finding the right combination of technical expertise, attention to detail, and good luck that create a great image. I really think that life kind of "made room" for a new way for me to be creative when I left product design behind, and photography more than fills that space for me. I began shooting daily in September 2008, and posted a single picture every day in a public photojournal. Its an ideal place for my photographic exploration as I try to discover new was to express what I've always bottled inside. California is home, and my day job is as a Product Manager at a biotech startup in Menlo Park.

I shoot Canon and my equipment consists of:

24-105mm f/4 L
50mm f/1.4
10-22mm EF-S (only on 40D)
2 580 EX II Flashes
Various modifiers/diffusers
40GB of Compact Flash storage
