My Flickr for me is a "slip box" for images, a way of organizing knowledge about visual material through its organization.

I collect and compiled this material in an ongoing process of reflection about the crucial role of visual representations in the process of collective/national identification.

Most of the material here was produced in the 1930s and early 1940s in what was then the British Mandate Palestine in the context of an emerging Jewish society, that later would constitute itself as the State of Israel.

Some of the material I own myself, but in big parts it is scanned from various books. In such cases copyright is not cleared. Nevertheless I tried to quote the respective sources correctly.
