I'm a 27 years old German persuing a PhD in Physics in Erlangen and living in Fürth (Bavaria).

Photography started for me when I got my first own camera with something around 8 years, but I've always felt very restrained by the cost of film. So I bought my first digital camera in 2000 (a 1.2M pixel Olympus point and shoot). After a while I really wanted something more than point & shoot, so the next camera was an Olympus C-5050 Zoom, which I bought in 2004.
When I joined Flickr in September 2007 I started a 365 days project and I bought my first lense: a 2.0 tele lense by Kenko for my c5050 (a simple screw-on lense with good magnification for the money).
After 126 days of self-portraits and heavy Flickr activity my motivation and energy was drained due to the beginning of my job, but of course I took many photos in the year 2008, too. Finally I got a Canon EOS 1000D, my first (d)SLR. In the meantime I've bought a zoom lens (70-300mm by Tamron), a 1.8 50mm and lately a 2.4 24-75mm.

I enjoy taking photos of all things nature related, generally of things I want to keep in memory and of course my hobbies (LARP and Ultimate Frisbee).
