  "In my view, based on 50 years worth of taking mediocre pictures, but viewing the work of the world's so-called greats, from Matthew Brady; Ansel Adams; Henri Cartier-Brisson; Robert Capa; Margaret Bourke-White; and Annie Liebowitz; I think I'm in a position to have an opinion on a true new talent arriving on the scene.
  
  The works of this young woman are not the result of studying the intricacies of camera construction, the why's and wherefor's of depth of field; or what makes for a truly new talent.
  
  Pretty pictures which whether they have succeeded or not have always been my forte, but in all honesty are fairly plebian. Michaela is a new phenomenon. Born not made, as most geniuses of any artistic or literary genre are, one instantly recognizes a quantum difference in her work.
  
  It has only been in the latter years of a reasonably long life, after taking thousands and viewing millions of images that I have come to discern the difference between an extravagantly pleasing photo and the work of a greater magnitude of inherent genius.
  
  Life is timing. Place and luck have affected us all from the moment of birth. Given good fortune in these imponderables I believe Michaela has the innate magic to be one of the greats in the ever changing field of digital photography and image manipulation.
  
  This comment is based on a very short exposure to the young woman's work, but I believe it will stand the test of time, although I do not expect to be here to see that happen!
  
  Congratulations Michaela. In my humble view, a star is born !!!"

  "Is there a cooler photographer on Flickr than michaelab311? Her work has an aesthetic allure all of its own, created by: a vastly engaging range of subjects; an awareness of the mysterious in the ordinary; assured framing; great vision; a firm grasp of the minimalist ethic and so much more.
  
  In “Stirred chocolate milk,” michaelab311 presents us with an ordinary set of stairs transformed by her artistic vision into something delicious and almost edible! “Different shades of white” is another set of stairs which coolly consists of nothing more than a number of horizontal lines but in such an artistic and inspiring way. “women only...”, dedicated to another of my favourite photographers, Nightphotographer, is simply a pink wall with the word “woman” on it but the graphical awareness displayed is of a very high order. The “more or LESS” set in general is well worth a look but michaelab311’s stream offers us so much more.
  
  “The Sorceress,” for example, is a beautiful image of a tree presented as a huge, black, twisting, animated creature holding court in the forest. “lunchbreak shopping” is a clever use of transparent surfaces and pretty tulips which conveys the subject so well and so artistically. Her “Macros” set offers us a collection of work as good as any close-ups which make it to Explore every day.
  
  I could wax lyrical about so many of this photographer’s works as do her many regular visitors. In essence, her work is fascinating, assured, artistically accomplished and vastly inspiring."
