I started learning photography in 1986. I learned on a hand-me-down all manual Hanimex SLR. Now, I use a Nikon D300 and a Canon Powershot. I also scan my 35MM slides and black & white negatives.
I enjoy landscape, nature, abstract, low-light and night photography. I also like taking pictures of my kids, all four of them! The best part of Flickr is learning new techniques and being inspired by all the other Flickrites.
Update June 2007: I found my old Hanimex SLR camera and I've started taking black and white photos on Kodak T-Max 100 and 400 film. I'm developing the film myself at home and scanning them with a film scanner.
