Don't take yourself or others too seriously. Ignore pretentiousness or take it with a pinch of salt. Try to find something funny in desperate or difficult situations.

Try not to harbour grudges. Forgive and forget or just move on. It will only fester if you don't.

Things will rarely be as bad as you feared or as good as you hoped.

Do something you enjoy doing each day - don't fritter away your life. Live each day as if it were your last as one day it will be.
