I like taking pictures, looking at pictures and talking about pictures.
I wish I weren't so lazy about the technical side of things, because I'll never be anything but a real amateur.
There's nothing as soulful as film, but I also like watching the practices of photography change with advances in digital processing.
I love my camera, an Olympus EP1.
I love my iPhone4.
I've learned a lot from other flickr photographers and rarely see contemporary photography exhibits better than what I've seen here.

touchingthelight says:
"I've been following Jay's work for some time. There are many photographers who put an artistic spin on reality. But there are few photographers whom I would describe as true artists; Jay is one of those. Jay photographs something deeper, with an inner voice and sharp observation that leaves the viewer completely free to respond with the same intuition. For a "real amateur" I think Jay produces superb abstract photography with something very meaningful to say to anyone who is open to listen: sometimes joyful, sometimes troubling, always beautifully thoughtful, enigmatic and inspiring ...
Keep going Jay. I look forward to seeing your work more with every image that touches me ..."24th January, 2008
