In 2005 a very good friend gave me a point and shoot Canon and I remembered how much I love to take pictures, even though I hadn't done so with any regularity since I was in high school. A few years later I decided to get more serious and took some night classes at PNCA in Portland, OR. The crashing economy took a lot of my time and serenity away, eclipsing my art but now I am coming full circle and doing more point-and-shoot work with my camera phone.

The power of narrative fascinates me - that we search for it and identify with images that are part of a shared idea of stories. (I am a fan of Cindy Sherman as well as Philip-Lorca diCorcia) In school, I worked with digital assemblies as well as optics - basically anything that would tell the story and help to create a good photograph. I've still got a Rolli that I haven't broken out of its case, but love the look of film and hope to get to it soon. Above all, though, I love to look for and see photos everywhere I go.
