Hi, I'm from Vancouver Canada, and I'm a 30 year old software developer, jazz pianist, photographer, and video student.

Bio
I started getting into photography in 2003 with a point-and-shoot Olympus C-50. I quickly discovered that my favorite subjects are food and people. I got my first SLR in May 2007 and since then I have been doing a lot of food photography for my Vancouver restaurant blog (www.dineouthere.com).

Professional work
A couple of years ago my work was noticed by the photo editor of enRoute magazine (the inflight magazine of Air Canada) and she gave me some assignments to shoot food at restaurants around Vancouver. I also was hired by a personal chef to do promotional shots of his dishes and by a fast food Indian restaurant to create images for their exterior signage.

Journey into Video Production
I then took a break from professional photography and focused on learning skills in video production. I am now an avid video student with a focus on becoming the best video editor and all-around video producer I can be. I find my still photography skills come in handy when shooting video as well. How I also make a living
I make a living by doing software development for a large German software company, and I also play jazz piano around Vancouver in my band (the Geoff Peters Trio). By the way, we have lots of free music on our website.

Please note that some of my photos are available for purchase / licensing for commercial use. This is done through Getty images and a link to "Request to License" is available next to most photos. Most often, photos containing people cannot be licensed unless permission is obtained from the specific people.

Did you use my photo?
It has come to my attention that many of my images of food have been used by restaurants on their printed menus. I require some compensation for the use of these photos. A free meal or gift certificate might be enough - please message me!
