I take photographs with a decrepit old camera from 1950. It allows me to see things through the eyes of previous eras, sifting through the 1940s, 50s, 60s and 70s. My photographs depict scenes emphasizing dramatic play of light and, more often than not, vintage subject matter. Things just seemed a lot more interesting to look at back then...

"This man knows what he's doing. I don't, and I enjoy his work all the more because of that. His eye for composition is incredible, easily one of the best around. His framing and arrangements are impeccable. I'm never sure how much post-processing is done with the color, but whether bold or subdued, it's spot-on in each shot . His camera also appears to be a time machine; his subjects and his treaments have a very heavy 60s/70s vibe, perfect for the City by the Bay. Steven's work makes me want to haul my ancient Photog BFA out of the basement and put it to use. I haven't done that yet, but he's inspiring me to be fixin' to get started working toward moving in that direction."

"Steven is a master of the TTV image and quite a painter as well. His photographs are beautiful and constructed so well visually. He always seems to have some new amazing image posted, I wonder if the man sleeps. Or maybe he sleepwalks with his TTV contraption."
