I’ve been sewing since I was a girl, made my first quilt in the late 1970s and have been passionately quilting since the late 1980s.
I am mostly self-taught and have tried many of the trends. But over the years, my quilting style has simplified. I like using basic shapes that show off the fabric. I love pattern, color and fabric; I think about them all of the time. I don’t follow fabric designers or lines and I don’t have a favorite color. This can be a problem--my fabric purchases are diverse and unconstrained!

A large part of my life now is dealing—long-distance—with the disappearance of my Mom into Alzheimer’s dementia. Quilting and quilting friends are helping to keep me sane and grounded.
