I'm not even a photo amateur, I just take pictures on holidays and day trips. When I first saw the photos on Flickr, it did this to me: everytime I take a picture, I ask myself: "Is it good enough to put on Flickr?" Having an account on Flickr has a positive influence on the quality of my photos (at least, I hope it has ;-)
Since 2003 I have used an Olympus 300 Zoom as my first digital camera. Halfway 2006 I switched to a Canon Powershot A700 with 6 megapixels and 6 times optical zoom.
I don't perform special tricks on the photos. The only postprocessing I do is straightening and cropping.
