Update: July 2010.....purchased a Canon 2Ti with an 18 - 134mm IS lens & love photography even more than before....

June 2006...
After teaching math for 31 yrs. retiring at age 60 to do photography is wonderful. I purchased my Canon Rebel XT in July 2006 & am in the process of figuring it all out. I find myself looking everywhere for a good shot! Photomajik (Marilyn) & I have become good friends while on-the-road taking pictures. I think we inspire each other.....I know we love Saxby's Coffee & if there isn't one around, we go to Starbucks.....

I really enjoy being a flickr member, viewing others photos & reading the comments on mine. I thought I would miss teaching (it was my life after all) but happily, I don't one bit!

"Math teacher (Kay) has been a delightful Flickr contact for a long time and I can always count on her to comment on my photos. I look forward each day to seeing the whacky and unusual items photographed by her. The titles of her photos shows just how witty and clever she is! This testimonial is way past due! Kay is an excellent photographer and I cherish her friendship! Thanks, Kay!!"

"This testimonial is long overdue......I am always interested in seeing what Kay posts.......her diversity in subject matter & photographic skills is superb. There's such variety in her stream, whether it be a close up of rust to posting a stranger........Many of her images are what I would have loved to upload.......but seeing them on her stream is encouraging & makes me want to do the same......

Thank you Kay for the continuous inspiration, enjoyment & how you see the world through your lens."

As adept a photographer as Kay undoubtedly is, she is an even better friend. "kay is a like a flower - continuing to unfold at a fabulous rate in her retirement!

i always smile when i find my way over to her photostream - whether she is capturing an image of a flower or a rusty piece of farm equipment, kay brings the same level of attention and discerning eye to her composition.

kay has a wonderful way about her - i'd wager that she was the best 'math teacher' ever - you'll definitely want to adopt her as a contact and flickr friend. miles of smiles to you, my fine flickr friend ... :) :)"

"What a wonderful friend Kay is. She is definitely the brave one who is not afraid to ask if we can take pictures of an old barn or something that catches our eye. We have been going on adventures since April ’06 and really have a blast traveling the rural back roads in search of…..whatever! Although somewhat new to photography, Kay has a natural eye for unusual subjects and angles, she constantly challenges me and now has me crawling on the ground taking photos too..LOL I truly treasure her friendship and the memories we have made and look forward to new adventures!"
