Opera House Arts at the Stonington Opera House (OHA) was founded in 1999 to restore the 1912 Stonington Opera House, on the National Register of Historic Places, to its original role as a central institution to Stonington’s Main Street and working waterfront. OHA’s mission is to use the performing arts to foster and promote excellence in all the ways we perform our lives: Incite Art, Create Community. We fulfill this mission by providing a full, year-round schedule of first run films, educational programs, and high quality, professional and community performance experiences; and by commissioning new work that sustains and extends the unique cultural legacy of rural Down East Maine.
