“People that I met, they’re the ones that thought I should sing Country music,” confesses rising country Star Sandra Piller. “I was brought up in the city, but I must have picked up my Mom’s southern accent because people thought I sounded Country. I started looking at Country songs, and found I really enjoyed the storytelling aspect of country songs, they are so meaningful. Then, when I first heard the Judds, I thought, wow, maybe I sing country too.”
Sandra Piller is not your father’s country singer –she mixes a country soul with an urban sensibility, and an unrelenting optimism. Sandra has embraced the influences traditional country artists like Crystal Gayle, Patsy Kline, Kenny Rogers and the Judds, and dappled it with her touch of style, confidence, hope and an excellent opportunity for some two-stepping….
"Playing live is so much fun, and it’s a great way to work through the new songs,” Sandra raves. “We knew we had a hit with ’I Cross That Bridge’ because it gets such a great live response.”
’I Cross That Bridge’ has been planted at the top of the Country Indie charts since spring. Another accomplishment in what’s becoming a very satisfying singing career. Sandra was voted Best New Country Artist 2009 by New Music Weekly for her contemporary country classics like “I Could Get Used to You,” “Mistletoe and You,” and her second CD Kindred Spirits. And better is yet to come…
