I started taking photographs years ago with an old-school approach - Nikon F with hand-held incident-light metering and Kodachrome 64 for almost everything. My photographs from that period are dominated by scientific and macro-photography, especially of bees: reflecting my work and interests at that time. However, eventually my enthusiasm waned.

In recent years my interest has been rekindled with the arrival of a digital camera and a copy of Photoshop. Nowadays I'm definitely not an equipment obsessive - what I mainly like to use is a small and tough digital camera with decent lens that gives me manual control over the settings.
I try to carry a camera around with me and to simply photograph whatever catches my eye. This policy has proved costly as I'm quite hard on my possessions and unfortunately my digital cameras have tended to have quite a short lifespan.

But recently my interest has turned back to 35mm photography and I've dug out my lovely old Nikon F and lenses, stocked up with black-and-white film and chemicals - and I'm loving it again...
