Peter you've lost the news' photostream |

Please note that no images in my photostream may be used or copied without my permission.
I discovered Flickr in late 2005 and have gone through varying degrees of addiction. It's a very endearing website. It's so interesting seeing what other people see, and I particularly like the community aspect. You meet people, you make friends, you see the world from their perspective.

"Talk about a breath of fresh air! After a year or two on flickr, I've lost a few regular contacts whose pictures put a smile on my face. Now i have a new one!
Alex's work is exactly what I aim for. Bright, colourful, original images with depth, character and a sense of humour. Always nicely done."1st October, 2007

"I've been prowling around this wonderful community for exactly a year now, and I thought the time had come to write a few words of appreciation for some of the kind people who have made my time here such fun.
I can't remember who's stream led me to Alex's work, but I do recall initially being intrigued by his username. Further investigation revealed a wonderful sense of humour, then finally I discovered his brilliantly crafted photographs (I know, I know, the photos are the point here, and it should have been they that were the initial draw, but I'm being honest here).
Alex's work continues to inspire and amaze me; his keen eye (for yes, indeed, he is a Cyclops) and feel for colour, result in a continuous stream of wonderfully appealing photos. I look forward to his perspective on life and the enterprising way he gets us to view everyday objects in a different light.
His food shots have often sent me scurrying off into the kitchen, inspired by whatever toothsome glory he has produced and his passion for tea and marmite must mean he's and OK kind of guy.
Thanks Alex, for sharing your diverse view of the world and also for your encouraging comments and friendship."10th March, 2007

"Alex is one of those rare photographers you can be honest with. I can say what I think and he will neither get upset or totally agree with me.
His photos are full of wit and originality and many look very tasty too. I love to see what he will do next."10th January, 2007

"Where shall I begin? Alex is the most handsome Flickrite, the most creative Flickrite, the most interesting Flickrite. His work is consistently fresh, eyecatching and inspiring. Alex is a true artist, he sees beauty and life in the most unusual, unthought of objects and I am very proud to be his friend. He is a very kind, warm man, who can be counted on to bring cheer to your day and make you smile.
Thank you Alex for being a dear friend, for your concern and the care that you always show. You are the stuff great men are made of!"12th January, 2007

John Suler's PhotoPsychology says:
"Alex is one of my favorite photographer’s on flickr. His photos have a clean and crisp look, with elegant balance and purity in design. He notices the beauty in everyday objects. In his hands, a dripping clothesline or a stairway railing are transformed into things of beauty. Even seemingly small and insignificant things that others barely notice, like a bottle opener or a carton of eggs, are elevated to the realm of art. He has a particularly wonderful eye for capturing the hypnotic visual motion and rhythm of repeating forms in natural and human-made environments. I have joked with him about how his subtle, rich colors are the result of living under the photographically perfect diffuse light of the overcast UK skies; but make no mistake: he has an eye for color that is the heart’s desire of any photographer. For me, his photography is a heightened form of realism that helps us see the beauty of color, texture, and form that surrounds us everyday."
