My romance with photography began as a teenager when this combined with my desire to travel led me to consider a career as a photo-journalist. However after 15 years in IT but contemplating a career change I trained as a photographer at the prestigious The London College of Communication (formerly the London College of Printing), a constituent college of the University of the Arts London.

After dabbling with digital I finally switched completely when Nikon introduced their professional digital SLR the D2X and loved its versatility. The more you shoot the more you learn, and with digital it's instant learning on site. No more waiting for pictures to be developed, by which time I've forgotten how I took them, let alone what the camera settings were.

I do all myown printing, this allows me to squeeze out the best quality I possibly can and do justice to my subject. It's that finest detail that's the difference between a photograph and a snap.

I moved to Cómpeta with my husband Andy in June 2005 and we immediately set to work converting the 3 roomed donkey bodega beneath our house into usable space. Sugar and Spice was opened the following December and sells international foods, ladies clothes, furniture and giftware. As well as being the ideal showcase for my photography we also provide bespoke design and printing services.

Since moving to Cómpeta I have provided photographs for magazine articles, publicity brochures, websites, magazine advertising & commercial portraits & weddings.
