Photography is an art, a technique, friendship, and like friendship, it is greater than the sum of its parts.

A picture comes alive when it is shared, as friendship does; both need to be shared. One must have friends to be exposed to new views and richness in life.

As with friendship, photography has a vivaciousness that goes beyond the perception of one’s friends. It is the expression of its author, of his internal feelings that are reflected in what he sees when he captures the image. It may be his sorrows or the dreams of how he wishes reality could be.

The image awakens the new observers/friends, who see their own realities or dreams within the image: new undiscovered details, new perspectives, new dynamics, new value in colors, a new bianco-scuro of creation and life. Through the photograph, they make inspirational links and insights that could not be so easily grasped through verbal communication.

Photography is a friendship that grows and, as such, is the product of more than just the combination of the photographer and his observers/friends. What beauty of both creation and innovation! Beyond the image’s own physical nature and its original composition, the picture seems to acquire its own personality and communication of thoughts and feelings.

Humanity would be bored without Mother Nature and all her children, whose peculiarities and seasonal changes can be enhanced for all through the magical, transformational experience of sharing what one writes with light.
