Many years ago, my photography was mainly confined to recording family occasions, though I always dabbled with more arty shots. However, these languished lost in a pile of unlooked at photos. Flickr and digital photography have given me a reason to explore and play with images.

There are a few drawings too - mainly A5 size Christmas cards - drawing my own card has become a tradition over the years. However, I rarely draw these days.

Home is Scotland,, we have been in The Netherlands then in India - and are currently back in the Netherlands.

A little of our experiences in India is here - The Spices in Life

I currently use the Canon SX40 having resisted getting a dslr (for the convenience of being able to carry a camera anywhere, anytime). Previously I used both a Canon S5IS with telephoto lens - VCL-DH1758 and a Nikon P80 (for lowlight shots). The new SX40 has exceeded the abilities of both (apart from the ease of using manual - why have you made it so awkward, Canon?). The S5 was an upgrade from the S2 IS and my first digital camera was a Konika Minolta Dimage.

I started Hands, Claws and All Kinds of Paws after being inspired by the wonderful shots I was seeing of hands, particularly this one by algo.

"Well now, this is strange. I would have sworn that I had already written a testimonial for Lynn quite some time ago. I surely had meant to. So, now I will do it.
I feel a great admiration for Lynn, for her photography and for the poems and prose she chooses to grace her photos. I love her photos of Scotland, a place long in my conciousness because of my Scottish heritage.
Keep up the great work, Lynn!
    Gary"

"Lynn is a very good photographer. Well, that's somenthing that you all know, but, do you know how good friend and how kind she is? I'm here to say it. She was one of my first contacts here. She helped me in many ways: with my pics, with my poor english... I'm always waiting to see a knew pic made by her. She is an artist, and a very special woman."

"I seem to have known Lynn for ever here. She's one of those hard working, generous and warm people who always gives more comments than I give back, and I feel a twinge of shame and selfishness every time I see her cheerful icon! She's no mean photographer either, and always manages to find great thought-provoking literary references to counterpoint a nice photo. She should write a book! I think it would do rather well..."

    "She is the stander
    By flag of bloods

    You know :
    The highlands quiet wide eye..

    The toucher of wounds
And the wisher sometimes for us
That there was a bandage as soft
And as wide as moist clouds

    Up there

    In the mountain sky ....

    A kind of sister-soul I think ..

"Lynn is a great photographer, who's evident pleasure in flickr is an inspiriation to us all. Her administration of the group Literary References in Pictures is an example of how a group should be administered and puts me to shame for my own desultory attempts to run a group. A true photographic ambassador for Scotland, it is people like Lynn who make flickr the great international community that it is."

"Lynn gives us a look at life in Scotland that most of us will never see. She pairs with classic poetry, and links to information on the historical places she posts. You will not visit her photostream without learning something!

A lovely lady -- inside and out! Literary Reference in Pictures group would never work without you (my sincerest thanks!). I am so glad to have "met" you, Lynn!"
