"In a famous decision about pornography, the US Supreme Court said, "I can't define it, but I know it when I see it." (or something like that) Well, I think that way about art. What separates a nice sentimental postcard of some pretty farmland from dani+elle's open air view of the prairies is just that. One is nice to look at and you forget it once it is not before you. dani-elle's photgraphy lingers as an image of ambiance. When you look at her shots, you can breathe in the same air, feel the open spaces and think about your place on the planet. They are still and dynamic at the same time. Whenever I see her photgraphs of the prairies, I am right where I want to be, standing beside her as she clicks the shutter."
