Back in the days of film I used to do a lot of portrait and model work. I also did some weddings, family sets and photo business cards. I lost the use of the studio due to a divorce (my partner's) and this was the end of the studio shooting. I thought something would have evolved and I'd be shooting once again but it didn't and I got more and more involved in other areas.

This did allow me to return to landscape and nature work. This was always my first draw to photography, but its tough getting to those great locations especially when the light is just right. I have always felt that lighting is the most important aspect of a quality photograph. There are many variables that create a photograph and separate it from a snapshot, but lighting is the cornerstone. I have always been drawn by strong colors. This is true even for muted images. My images have always been known for their rich, deep tones and hues.

B st. Studio is a name that I was planning to use if I went on my own when I was doing portraits etc. I still have all of the equipment, (lights, soft boxes, backgrounds ......), and some day will start doing portraits again if I get a place to set up and do it. I decided to use the B st. logo for no particular reason, other than why not?!

My digital experience is somewhat limited. I shot film for a very long time and was reluctant to change. Now that I have I can't imagine how I got along with film for so long. Although film's limitations made me a better shooter than I would have been without that experience. In this same digital vein I am just starting to scratch the surface of Photoshop. I still feel that the best images should be made primarily in the camera.

Unfortunately I have had a couple of images "highjacked" therefore I had to turn off the all sizes button.

I am really having a great time looking at everyone's work and learning from it. I am always grateful for any constructive criticism and equally grateful for views and comments in general. I hope to get together with any Flickr friends to enjoy any images either digital or film. At this point, I am open to new contacts and I will do my best to reciprocate with the views and comments, especially if you have done the same.
