I am a firm believer in the Ted Grant quote: "When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls! "

For me Flickr is a great place to watch the work of other people. One of the reasons why I love to be a group admin in the following groups (a visit is highly recommended):

The 21st Century in B&W
The Inspiring Photograph

I also invite you to visit two side projects: The Dark Side of Photography, which is meant to give creative photographers a forum where they can post their most individual expression of their most individual emotions, and The Beauty of Women in B&W. Great work is to be found there!

More info about my view on photography can be found at 15 Questions by John Phrenzel (founder of The Inspiring Photograph).

You can also find my work at gallery Studio 501.

All my pictures are licensed under the Creative Commons Non-Commercial Non Derivative license. This license is often called the “free advertising” license because it allows you to download my work and share it with others as long as you mention me and link back to me, but you can’t change my work in any way or use it commercially.

Creative Commons is a non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative work available for others to build upon and share. Current copyright laws are generally extremely restrictive. Creative Commons has done the hard legal figuring to enable people to simply and easily express their preferences with respect to what others can do with their work.

"The photography works of Fouquier ( Ronny ) makes me travel ....and walk , dream ,remember ,about the people of my city ( and others ) ... the street .

    The stories .
"Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am..."

The daily life , the light of the sun .
    The movement

You are my window , the real photographer that brings life into paper .

That´s what I love and appreciate about your work.
The quality of your photography .
The soul you place and "write " on them .. as a signature.

    Thanks for sharing your work

    Two Dragons says:

    "Some see with their eyes
    Some see with their heart
    Some see with their mind

Ronny 'looks' at the world with all three and then creates the images for others to see through their own eyes, hearts and minds.

I continue to learn by seeing Ronny's images. They create a resonance that draw you in to look further. They are often timeless in essence, capturing an ephemeral moment that will remain thanks to his use of photography.

His humility is abundant and when I receive a comment on my own work I feel a genuine warmth emanating from him that helps with my own confidence and development in this wonderful medium.

A great bloke on many levels, and I'm proud to 'know' him, albeit through the ether."

    Frecklenose says:

"A good part of Ronny's work could be summed up to me in some of Antoine de Saint-Exupery's words I remember mentioning to him a while ago : "In every crowd are certain persons who seem just like the rest, yet they bear amazing messages." Not only does he have this capacity to capture the spirit of people, but he has this power to crystallize their daily moments to voice an essence of who they are. His eyes naturally captures the dialogue between a person and her element - and when it comes to candid street photography, I believe it's a real talent. Nothing appears to be lost and every detail of his compositions is a hint of his intuitive understanding of the human nature as well as another visual line in the tale of being, day after day. When you look at his pictures, you feel and understand those people in that they embody who you are, might be, have been or who you could be, and to quote L. Schlessinger “The people and circumstances around me do not make me what I am, they reveal who I am”.

This is the reason why I feel his street portraits and scenes are not only the reflection of his affection of the human spirit, but of his own sense of humanity too. So I shouldn't have to mention now that he is genuinely kind-hearted... and besides that has a great sense of humour. :) He has been very supportive in many ways as the photographer but as a friend too.

Just check his photostream, and after one look, you'll see :)"

    .Ian Mylam. says:

"Fouquier is a first-class street photographer. He has great timing, a keen photographer's eye for gesture and composition, and is a gifted visual storyteller. What impresses me about his work above all is consistency. If you look through his stream, you will find a body of photographic work of a very high standard; not just a few great images interspersed with mediocre photographs. I am also in awe of his post-processing skills: the tonality of his black and white images is invariably stunning.

In spite of his talent, he is refreshingly humble, and very generous with his time. He regularly makes the effort to review the work of other photographers, and offer words of encouragement.

Fouquier's stream is one of the first I go to for inspiration, and I am never disappointed. He is a credit to the Flickr community."

"There is a small group of amazing photographers on fickr who take very good photographs and just a few of that group take excellent photographs. Fouquier or better known as Ronny, is one of them. Not only does he pick very good subjects but he photographs them with great expertise, always sharp and crisp with great contrast and sensitivity. I have often looked at some of his photos and wished that I had taken them. Ronny is probably the first friend/contact that I look at when I come home to see his latest work which is always of a very high standard. I look forward to more in the future."

"Fouquier inspires me through his work. His passion for photography is clear to see, and this shows in his images and character, but he is always ready and willing to praise others' work. Personally I find this very reassuring, as some photographers I've encountered in my short time at this seem very self centred.
I have gained much confidence in my own ability through his encouragement, and I thank him for that!
    Cheers Fouquier"

"How can I possibly be the first to write a testimonial for Fouquier? A truly gifted photographer who brings to life the "Day to day" of his world.

Personally I have be enriched but not only his work, but his processing of the digital image to a fine black and white" which captures the very essence of his subjects.

Not only is it easy to compliment him on his skills in photography, but he is a trusted contact and a friend as well. His daily visits and comments really help to bolster others.

I urge you all to take some time from your day and spend it pouring over his photo stream. You will be enriched for it."
