About Me

I live in the Midlands of England with my husband and two children (15 & 8 years old). I work full time as a software development manager for an energy company but when I escape from that I am either looking after the family, sewing or reading.

My daughter and I love sewing and crafts which gives us something to do when the boys are playing golf or watching their beloved Manchester City footbal club!!

I have to admit to having a bit of a fabric addiction which has led to a rather overflowing stack of boxes up in my craft cupboard. I have made so many things over the past year which you can see if my photo sets....but the boxes just dont seem to be getting any less full.

So what do I like on the fabric front: I love fabrics from Heather Ross (I have some faf far away waiting for the right project), Lizzy House (cant resist the castle peeps - take a look at my quilt), Amy Butler and Anna Marie Horner. I also seem to be gathering an increasing amount of owl and bird fabrics.....surely you can never have too many. As you can tell I like fabrics with strong colours and prints. I do use some traditional fabrics too but normally because I'm using them in applique projects.

So what style do I like: I love anything with applique...I love doing it myself and find other peoples skills amazing. Piece O'Cake Design's books are my favourite source of inspiration. This year because of my quilting bees I have been experimenting with different blocks and have enjoyed trying out spiderweb blocks and string blocks - I'm hoping to make a quilt using these myself.
