  "I've only been on Flickr about 3 months at this point, but I feel like I know Rey. It's sometimes tough to know who you can truly trust on Flickr, but Rey earned my trust very quickly. His fun-filled family photos were some of the first I saw on Flickr. I especially love the ones where the whole family joins in, like his "mud" series.
  
  Rey is a strong, kind, generous, friendly, person who embodies the "Golden Rule"; to treat others the same way he would expect to be treated. He is patient, thoughtful, and wise. I always get the sense that he puts some thought into each comment he makes so that it reflects his true feelings. If you get praise from Rey, you can bet it is genuine. He will generously offer his opinion but is always willing to consider a different point of view. Even if he disagrees, he is very tolerant of other views and lifestyles.
  
  Not one to fear breaking convention, Rey does things his own way. This often results in some very unique and compelling images. I confess that I've "borrowed" some of his ideas in my own photos. Hey... why reinvent the wheel, right? This is not to say that Rey can't take constructive criticism. To the contrary, Rey will humbly accept suggestions and is always in "learning" mode.
  
  You can see from his stream that he is a loving, devoted family man. He loves nature and lives as close to it as he can. I'm sometimes a bit envious of his lifestyle, wishing I could have a little more of the special kind of freedom he enjoys. I love how he keeps his family close and devotes his time and energy to their wellbeing. His family is fortunate to have him at the helm and those he calls friends are indeed blessed.
  
  Rey may be "just" a Flickr buddy, but he feels like family. :-)

  I wrote the above words sometime in December of 2007. After re-reading it I can honestly say that every word still holds true. I found Rey's happy, funny family photos before a month had passed from my joining Flickr. Weeks later I'd learned all I needed to know. His kind, honest, open, and straighforward manner endear him to all who meet him whether in person or on-line.
  
  He has evolved into a world-class photographer, worthy of the "Pro" moniker. His studio photos are second to none and his marvellous macros are fascinating. His photo processing skills have kept pace with his artistic and technical prowess. He carries these skills over to his warm, happy family photos as well. His candid photos keep me smiling and laughing. He continues look for ways to improve his skills and to use his tools to produce ever more magnificent photographs. He is still in "learning mode" and probably always will be - as it should be.
  
  He's still one of the most humble, generous, patient, forgiving, people I know. Although we live our lives over 3,000 miles apart I feel like I'm in his living room when I visit his photostream and exchange comments. We still have long and sometimes spirited discussions from time to time on topics that others tend to avoid. It's easy with Rey because there is no penalty of judgement - only an open exchange of ideas shared between intelligent, open-minded people.
  
  Don't try to put Rey in a box or paste a label on him. These will only limit your understanding of him. Rey is like a tapestry, woven from a colorful blend of cultures, family ties, friendships, and experiences. Over time Rey has crafted this tapestry into a magnificent masterpiece that many would envy. He'll continue to weave this work of art until the day he draws his last breath. Then his decendents will weave his legacy into their splendid ancestral quilt. His family and friends will do well to follow his examples. If they do, the world will be a better place.
  
  Rey is no longer "just" a Flickr buddy - hasn't been for a long time. He is my most trusted Flickr friend, bar none, and a true friend indeed. He still feels like kin - He is my brother!

  "It has been for 4 and a half years when we first bumped into “Moonman’s” stream and what can we say other then he is a wonderful friend in Flickrland as well as someone we consider a friend “in meatspace”. Over there years we’ve all seen a lot, yet Rey remains such a strong community pillar and an asset to all that know him here. We visited Rey and family in Summer of 2010 and had a great time.   "I really like writing these things because why wait until someone retires or is dead to give them a testimonial? Even at that, this testimonial for Rey is long overdue.
  
  As evidenced by all his friends and contacts and previous testimonials, it is clear to see that Rey is one of the happiest, friendliest, most out going people I've met on flickr, or in real life for that matter.
  Here is a person who is genuine and real and true to himself as well as to others. He knows how to treat people and is generous and giving, maybe to a fault.
  
  Rey's best asset is his God given talent, or let's say capacity, for love. Including but not limited to love of life it's self, unconditional love of his family and extended family, and yes, his friends too. I have seen this demonstrated time and time again in his beautiful images of his wonderful family, and recently, in his friendship and loyalty toward me, for one. I will be forever grateful and indebted to him for being so supportive and understanding at a time when others weren't.
  
  Another one of Rey's endearing qualities is his complete lack of pretention or "attitude". He is just open, honest and sincere, and my goodness, how refreshing that is in this day and age!
  
  Not surprisingly, these qualities translate perfectly into, and are readily apparent in Rey's photography. Such a wonderful, natural, easy going type of documentary style family photography is what produces the heart warming images that we have come to know and love.
  
  Last but not least, I admire Rey's great sense of humor and quick wit. I always feel like we're on the same page when I talk to Rey and it feels like I've known him for years. It feels like, well, like being part of the Clan.
