I love taking photos but I'm more of a snapper than a photographer. I used to think I was a photographer but that was in the days when everything was manual. I have finally accepted that my cameras are far more intelligent than I am so they are set to automatic most of the time. I do occasionally get a bit more creative, mainly where depth of field is an issue and particularly with close-ups.

I tend to flit from subject to subject so you won't find any particular theme in my photostream, just anything that took my fancy at the time. What you will find is a bit of variety and I hope there is something that appeals to you

I've been taking photos for a long time and as I'm retired I have plenty of opportunity to indulge my hobby. I'm also dealing with a large backlog of photos that I unleash in a fairly steady stream.

I love looking at everyone else's photos too and spend a lot of time doing so. I'm amazed at the creativity evident in so many of the photos on Flickr. I lack the talent to try many of these techniques myself though some of it has rubbed off and a number of the photos I've taken since I joined Flickr have been the result of inspiration gained from other Flickr members.

I appreciate it if anyone comments or faves one of my photos and I always check out his or her photostream. When it comes to comments, I prefer words to rubber stamps.

I don't like deleting comments as they mean that someone has noticed my photo and has taken the trouble to let me know. However, there are times when I feel that something just has to go and I will delete it. The sort of thing that would get the chop? Well .....

Blatant self promotion, - if I get the feeling that the comment is more about the commenter's photos than about mine.

Anything that hogs the page.
