"Look back almost three years in Katia's stream and you'll find a shot called "Long way home…." None of it is in focus - and for that very reason it works brilliantly. That's the point, Katia is brave enough to risk failure when she shoots and when she posts, and when she succeeds, we're privileged to view some of the most imaginative street photography………anywhere.
.
We both live in London so I've been lucky enough to see Katia in action on photowalks - just glimpses though, I've never known a street photographer who can disappear so quietly and quickly into the city throng - a real artist at work - and a great friend too."17th December, 2011

She Said Unprintable Things says:
"I always approach Katia's work with a sense of awe. She is an artist with such a strong and fluid grasp of large forces. In her images, light is magnetic, love is ingrained, and life abounds by buckets and buckets!
Katia makes the strength of light and life seem casual to come by. It's as if she privately bargained with the ethereal, and came away with a matter of fact form of it all to share with us. This quality in her images is somehow both tangible and elusive, like an effect of a euphoric drug and just as addictive.
Luckily, she keeps providing her works of art. Katia- I am so grateful, for everything you have shared. It has galvanized my spirit! Thank you!"5th January, 2011

| Fata Morgana | says:
"Katia is an amazing photo artist. Her photography covers many subjects but the main is street life. Katia walks through London to capture a thousand subtle feelings and states of mind of the inhabitants of London and of the city itself. There is light and darkness, crowd and solitude, rain and reflections, humor and melancholy. There is poetry and jazz-like polyphony in all those momentous motions and emotions. It takes a true artist (and even more than that) to see and feel all this and to capture and present it with such a style. Should I add to this that Katia is also a wonderful person? Katia, my first testimonial on Flickr is for you."

Ann Marie Simard says:
"Katia's way of seeing the world is unique; human, empathetic, soulful and lyrical. An artist in the world of photography, with the humility of an artisan, her poetry and prose are pleasantly mixed in a coherent, emphatic and inspired view of the world. She masters all genres - portraiture, nature photography, street photography - and even combinations thereof - with flair and elegance, sprinkling each image with a magic touch she entirely owns.
Katia's excellent command of photographic techniques is in the right place: it serves her photographic vision of the world, which consists of depicting the spectrum of human experience and emotion with soul, compassion and an inspired touch.
I hope the viewer takes the time to delve deeper in this stream of images; each photograph is made with soul and leaves a deep imprint, and is worth more than one long look."25th November, 2009

..Looking Glass says:
"Katia has a magical ability to capture life on the streets of London with poignancy , drama and humour.
She weaves her magic through the day capturing the busy commute time and night when the city become alight .We are enchanted by her stories of lost keys, tunnels, canal side strolls, foggy days and weekend flowers.
All this and her wonderful posts of vibrancy and sometimes sadness from her travels around Europe and visits to her homeland in the Ukraine.
There can be no doubt Katia is one of the finest photographers on Flickr."26th November, 2009

"One of the very first people I added to my list of contacts and I think over the course of a year I have not been dissapointed at all with the images appearing on this photostream. The one thing that shines for me is the creativity and constant pushing of her limits to produce new ideas and develop techniques to make those ideas a reality. Truly splendid work that deserves to be shown far and wide and a delightful source of inspiration."

"I love Katia's photostream for two reasons. Firstly her photos are excellent, full of poetry and beauty. I love her street photos and wish I were able to take pictures of this kind. The second reason is that the photos are from London, one of my most favourite cities. Katia's photos sometimes brought me back to the place I visited when I was in London, but mostly show me unknown places which I'd like to visit. So that's why I follow her photostream every time I am on Flickr... :-)
Thank you, Katia, for sharing... :-)"26th April, 2009

"Katia's work is that of the soul. It is romantic in the purest, truest sense - each capture stimulates the imagination and reminds the viewer of his/her humanity in the midst of a kind of urban madness, which itself is lovely through her lens. She is passionate and poetic and her photo stream is one of the best in all flickr-dom! Congratulations, Katia, on your blurb book, Urban Lyric - it's fabulous!"

"Katia has such a brilliant eye for photography and if you know her stream at all you'll be aware that she sees beauty everywhere. It is great to see how her photography has evolved and developed over the last three years...
and now on her wanders around London (and the globe!) she, along with her trusty canon, manages to capture the most wonderful urban details and portraits! She records the world around her in a very honest and human way which is so inspiring. Each one of her pictures tells a story and each is unique... she is a true talent and a poet.
+ she is lovely! : )"2nd April, 2009

"I always look forward to Katia's photos. So many times I find myself getting lost in a dreamy urban landscape with beautiful colours blurring in the distance. Or wondering about the stories behind the characters she catches as they walk down the street. She has a great eye for a shot and produces such beautiful art.
Thanks for encouraging a beginner like myself along :)"1st February, 2009

"What attracts me to Katia and her fine talent is the way that she reaches out to touch the soul of my most favourite city, proving herself to be an outstanding ambassador of "life" as it is in London, evident also in the incredible collection of artistic and imaginative images she produces as testimonials to her emotions. Thank you for being my touching stone while I'm away and being an inspiration to us all."

"I first saw Katia's shot on my birthday eve. It was a Front Page shot and it appeared on and on and on ... It was/is so attractive or appealing. I fell in love with it. It was "Dance in the rain".
And now, though it is only 2 and a half weeks later, I've decided to write a testimonial as it is my son's birthday today. No connection? For me there are. My son's birthday is, of course, very very important to me. My birthday (eve) is very important to me too. Katia's shots, now, are very important to me as well. All connected as they are all important:-).
I am so very looking forward to seeing her shot(s) everyday now.
Thank you Katia, for sharing your beautiful shots with us, and I will look forward to seeing many more of your shots. Cheers :-))"10th December, 2008

Christiane Michaud ... says:
"I don't think I'm wrong in saying that Katia was one of my first contacts on Flickr...
What I admire most from her is the way she depicts cities. Her street scenes are full of sensibility, poetry and they are filled with emotions.
Her camera looks at people in a very emotional, subtle and tender way. She often sees what other people forget to look at. And often her pictures have a nice sense of humour.
To my eyes Katia is a real street poet. One should explore her stream, follow her on her endless walks through the city of London, through Turkey, through Ukraine. The world she sees is either lyrical, magical or romantic...but always marvelous...
Katia is a very gifted and brilliant photographer, showing street humanism. A very talented girl.
Katia, I love what you do. It's an endless pleasure to visit your stream...Thanks for being there from the beginning on.
Christiane"7th December, 2008

I really enjoy her photos (especially the street-photography) and get inspirations each time I look at one of her pictures. She has the perfect eye to capture the beauty in small things and unusual views. Katia is not only a photographer but a composer and I can't stop faving her beautiful artwork ...
Thank you very much for your visits and comments!"1st November, 2008

Brett Hatfield says:
"I wanted to write something clever but as I am very new to photography and flickr I don't know how inspiring this testimonial will be. I would like to say that the reason I took up photography was to capture all of the things I see in life that I try to share with others. For example things like the snow falling on a Christmas Eve and all of the things that would go with a moment like that. Those moments can actually be caught on camera, however it is very difficult to do. Once in a while you will see a photo that says what you feel or captures a moment you keep with you forever. Che-burashka (Katia) captures those things perfectly. I found myself one night looking through her photostream and wanting to tag just about all of them as my favourites. I realized that I should probably try to capture those things for myself if I could. Nevertheless, her photographs are by far the most wonderful moments I have never been able to capture for myself..."
