I am a middle school technology teacher who enjoys the change of pace that sewing/crafting gives me. I love the creativity found in sewing & quilting and am truely inspired by the beauty that people create through combining fabrics :o) If you are my partner in a swap I'm sorry to say that I don't have a blog. I spend so much time on the compter at school all day that I just need a break from it when I'm home (besides checking out all of the wonderful pictures on flickr!)

I have very diversified taste when it comes to quilts. I am really drawn to traditional style and *Love* scrap quilts. But, I also really like modern fresh quilts, too. I tend to buy small & medium scale prints and have a hard time making myself purchase large scale...even though I love how others are able to use them. I'm trying to stretch myself into using them as well. I am learning how to do applique and love the beautiful floral quilts made this way...both 19th century looks and modern wonky looks.

I like quilts that are made of the same block repeated over the top of the quilt as well as quilts that combine several different blocks. Probably I lean more towards clean, simple looks as opposed to fussy design. I like a lot of Gwen Marston's ideas about liberated quilts and "parts" quilts...I think this takes the stress out of quilting and allows it to be more fun.

As for fabric I am pretty open. I like most collections by Denyse Schmidt, and love, love, love *Anything* by French General & 3 Sisters! I also like Joel Dewberry, Kate Spain, Deb Strain, Sandi Henderson, and Bonnie & Camille. I am a self-confessed plaid-a-holic. I also really, really like the houndstooth fabrics that are coming out now (all sizes from tiny to large.) I also love linen and Moda woven fabrics.

Colors...wow, I like almost anything and everything depending on how it is used...pastels, brights, basics...



I am an flower garden type of girl :o)
