"I was only stung 3 times which is a record for me considering I've been a beekeeper for almost 40 years. Three stings during a single demonstration and it only took me a split second to realize the bees were being harrassed by the perfume from one of the onlookers I'd later be introduced to as Ingrid. She told me she bought it from a lady in Tuscany for $40 and a handful of Cornuts, but she really liked it. I guess bees don't. Ends up her perfume contains trace amounts of Pyrostegia venusta, which found in Brazil attracts not only attracts hummingbirds but angers honeybees. Only then, on the way to the hosptial while making small talk with the paramedic did she mention her love of phoography. All beekeeping aside, I was quite handy with a shutter and glass myself. We compared photo stories during my surgury, since the anathesia was local. Come to find out she's a wonderful person with a great laugh and a small addiction to using a fisheye. She no longer wears perfume."

"HapaKorean was one of my first contacts on flickr. I was immediately drawn to her generous and kind way of letting us in on her family life. It's a joy to accompany her and her beautiful sons (and family) through everyday life. The love for her sons is so evident in all of her shots. Immensely talented and sensitive, HapaKorean is not just another mom taking "tons of pictures of her children" (well, she is ... ;) but also of nature, architecture and much much more."

"HapaKorean was one of my first contacts here on flickr. Her photos captured me right away, and I could see so much love and life in all of her photographs.
There is so much pureness, honesty and skill in all her images. Till this day her photos amaze me as much as they did when I first saw them. ^_^"4th November, 2005

"Someone once said that the true glory of photography is the illumination of the hidden beauties of the quiet lives otherwise unnoticed; the world is a pallette, and the photographer is the master-framer who makes us see that an image is art. That person was me, describing the photography of HapaKorean, whose love of family and skill with the camera collide to produce warm images of warm people. The profundity of simple loves, especially those of mothers for children, are on display in these shots, and we are the better for seeing them."

"HapaKorean has an intense love for family which could not be more evident in her photographs of her sons and husband. Her love of children is a driving force in her life. I recently discovered she shares the distinctions of being half Korean and an only child with me. She is always friendly, thoughtful and caring. Her photography conveys her enthusiasm for life and is a vehicle for preserving memories which will be cherished for a lifetime."
