My work touches on the mystical essence of our world. I want to reflect this whether it is a portrait of my father or a wheelbarrow, I try and find the charm, the grace and the spirituality of my subject. We are of one source. Given respect both man and inanimate objects can display an inner presence.
All of this is done with my tongue in my cheek. It's a way of distancing myself and avoiding an obsessive response. My shots are meant to be funny in some subtle way. The titles on my photographs are very important an give the image a twist.
There are times when the sheer wealth of photographic talent on display in our fabulous website Flickr makes me stop, sink below the surface and take in water. I have learnt to draw from the pool and lie back with the sun on my face.the shadow behind the silhouette - View my most interesting photos on Flickriver
