Just an old fart who retired with too much time on his hands.
Raced motorcycles back in the 1960's into the late '70s.
My 20 year old brain is telling the 60+ year old body to go race again!!

Must comply, must comply, must comply....

The project is going to be a '60-'70s period correct shorttracker... Well, maybe some modern day tires, but all else will be pretty much '60s and '70s correct.

I'm starting out with a 1968 DT1 found and purchased on Craigslist. The base bike cost me $100.
The 1970 "Donor Bike" cost me another $120.
Parts from both will be used, some won't.
Age has taken it's toll on some...
Some parts, like crankseals will be a challenge to find now that they are out of production. Just makes the project all that much more rewarding when it's done!!

Check back every so often, I'll be posting more photos as the project moves on. Hopefully, by the end of summer 2010, I'll have had it on the track at the Spokane fairgrounds. There should photos from the track, if I can convince the family to come out and watch me race. They have only seen my old ('60-'70s) racing pictures, so it should be entertaining for them too!!
