Photography is my passion, my obsession, my working week and end! I love what I do and that makes all the difference. My obsessive nature to capture that magic moment, that just one more shoot attitude is what gives me the competitive edge. I am always trying to invent myself through photography. What other photographers are doing is a huge inspiration, they push me to be a better photographer. There is so much more to do, to learn and through my lens I discover a brave new world. My trusted Nikon D90 with it's film function is my weapon of choice. I think the fact that I am a graphic designer shows in my work, I shoot for a designer in mind. There is a certain graphic element to my photography.

Location photography is a blast, I love what the location and what the environment gives you. I think of it as a theatrical stage, a spectacle backdrop to my photography. The gritty sky line of Joburg as the sun is setting behind the buildings, Melville's street life as music pours out of bars and the smell of good food from restaurants fills the air. The energy of the beach. The big sky and vast land of the Karoo, that sunrise which is so much more rewarding than a sunset maybe because you have to wake up so damn early.

I enjoy working with people, meeting new models, new talent. Modelling is an art and is hard work, don't be fooled. Some models are better than others, some know how to make that camera work just for them. I push for performance in my photography. I am particularly good at getting performance out of my models, so there is more to my image than just a pretty face, I want that sparkle in the eye, that naughty smile that shows just in the corner of the mouth. That is what makes photography so much fun.

Truth be told I would do this job for free, but don't tell my clients that. High fashion, portraiture, landscape, architecture and event photographer are my areas of expertise. Don't ask me to shoot a wedding!
