i've tried on many different hats when it comes to creative expression, but photography is the only one that has come even remotely close to fitting. what started as a quick and fun way to document daily life has rapidly become an obsession. i know nothing about cameras, lenses, or any of the technical aspects; i know only what appeals to me, and, on the rare occasion, how to make it pretty. teasing the truth out of a photograph is like therapy. some other random facts:

*strong, black coffee is often my lifeblood. green tea, good beers, and the rare dirty gin martini are also high on my list.
* i like loud, angry and/or sad music. and lots of it. and often.
*most of what i eat is made from scratch, or comes from the garden (one of the boy's many projects). a few exceptions are made for products from trader joe's.
*my grandmother would be thrilled to know that the simple pleasure of birdwatching is something i've discovered i thoroughly enjoy.
*books, right up there with all that music, are one of my true saviors.
* i wander the house while brushing my teeth.
