Hey there everyone, my name is Dustin (friends know me as "Gini") and welcome to my photostream. I've had a strong interest in photography for as long as I can remember... National Geographic was my favorite magazine before I even hit kindergarten, and I can still remember the sense of wonder I felt looking at the amazing photos of interesting people and places from all around the world.

I dabbled with point and shoots for the longest time until my parents moved up to a new digital compact, then I finally got my hands on their old Canon T70 SLR (in 2008) and have become seriously hooked on photography ever since. I started saving my pennies for a digital system while learning with the T70 kit (a Canon 50mm f/1.8, Soligor 80-200mm f/4.5 and 277t flash...recent additions are a 28mm f/2.8, 35mm f/2.8, spare 50mm f/1.8, and a 135mm f/2.8, all Canon).

A new digital finally came within my price range, and after some research I settled on a Canon Rebel XSi with the 18-55mm kit lens. Since then a Canon 50mm f/1.8 II, a Canon 70-200 f/4L USM, a Tamron SP 60mm f/2 macro, and a Nissin Di 866 flash have been added to my arsenal, as well as a shiny new Canon EOS 60D.

I consider myself a passionate amateur with professional aspirations, at least until I get the experience and training to start making a living doing what I love to do. Until then I shall keep taking pictures of the things I enjoy or anything that happens to catch my eye in the world around me. Any feedback or criticism is welcome and appreciated!
