I take pictures for fun. The good ones go into my West Coast Gallery (which is really my hallway at home)! I've become somewhat of a photo-freak as I listen mostly to photography podcasts in my car, replacing sports talk radio and the music I like (jazz and alternative rock mostly).
I picked up my first DSLR in 2010 (actually, first SLR of any sort). My wife volunteered me to become the "team photographer" for our childrens' sports teams, so I jumped into learning how to use a camera really fast. It's been a humbling experience looking at the work of the folks I've been following here on Flickr. But all your tips, critiques, and inspiring shots have made this endeavor more enjoyable.
