Rich Morthland is a Rock Island County native and a lifelong Republican. He and his wife, Betsey, live and work on the family farm, homesteaded in the 1840s in Coe Township. Rich is a graduate of Riverdale High School and St. Ambrose University. He earned his master’s degree in Denver, Colorado, where he also had an eight year career in radio. In addition to farming, Rich and Betsey are both employed as professors at Black Hawk College. The couple has been married for 30 years and has two daughters, Eliza and Bethany.
