I am a retired high school band director. Now, I like to spend time with my beautiful wife, visit our sons and grandchildren, go camping, give music lessons, play in a big band, direct music groups with adults in them, and take pictures. I am not a great photographer. I really don't have the patience for that. In fact, I'm probably Mr. Point and Shoot personified. But, I do like having fun with the many cameras in my collection and mostly just enjoy using them. Most of my photos would not be considered art, but they do tend to reflect my life. So, my photo stream tends to be more of a visual diary of my life and the things I see around me.

Regarding my photographic style, I'm not very keen on out of focus pictures. If I want to see the world as a fuzzy blob, I'll take my glasses off. I was hit in the eye with a baseball at a young age, so I remember quite vividly what double vision was like. Therefore, double exposures hold no fascination for me. I've been there, done that and it wasn't all that much fun. Despite the fact that I am a musician, I'm really not all that artsy. I'm not a very deep thinker, either, so when I look at a picture I really prefer photos that speak to me clearly in a way that I can understand.

As I said, I'm not a professional photographer, but believe it or not, I have had some of my pictures utilized by others from time to time for their own profit and not mine. (O.K. you can stop laughing.) So, I am now forced to make the following statement: YOU DO NOT HAVE MY PERMISSION TO DOWNLOAD ANY OF MY PHOTOS FOR USE IN EBAY ADS OR TO MAKE POSTERS TO SELL, OR FOR ANY OTHER REASON.

There. Now I feel better.

My buddy icon is a picture of what I call the first real camera I ever owned, the Kodak Flashmite 20. My parents gave it to me when I was 15. I just thought it was appropriate to use to represent who I am when it comes to photography.
