I think it was the Christmas of 2005 when I got my first digital camera. It was a little Praktica 5mp point-and shoot and I loved it. I started taking many more pictures and was more focused on quality. People liked some of the photos and it was about that time when I picked up an interest in photo-manipulation (which meant Photoshop).

In February of this year, I get my first DSLR. It's something I'd been wanting to get for a few months. DSLRs are costly though, so I did a lot of research and looked for something at a reasonably low price, but didn't mean low-quality. The camera I chose was a Canon 400D.

I've taken a few photos with the kit lens, but now I reaching the limitations what I can get with that, so I'm getting more lenses alongside other accessories and gear.

I have some goals for my photography:

First and foremost, I want to become really good. This will mean a lot of practice and further investment, but I think that if I get good with the 400D, I can justify moving onto better cameras.

Secondly, I'd like to start taking more pics of people/do photoshoots. I take photos of many different things and will continue to do so, but people/photoshoots is my favourite area. I haven't got a studio at the moment, but this goal can be achieved (to a certain extent) without that.

Thirdly, I'd like my photos to be on display in many different ways - e.g. magazines, selected websites, etc.

Maybe I'll go professional at some point, but that decision is a long way off. I need to be better at photography, have plenty of decent equipment at my disposal and have my work noticed by more people.

On Flickr, I will submit photos and always ask for constructive criticism. At this fairly early stage, I'll take all the advice I can get!
