torabisu's photostream |
Just learning the ropes of being an amateur photography hobbyist. I'm currently shooting with a Nikon F65 35mm with hopes of either obtaining a Nikon film scanner OR getting a digital SLR. I'm starting to use a wider variety of film (though I will be using a lot of Fuji Velvia 100 I bet).
Other than that, I'm just a little kid trying to make it in the big city.

DoubleGrande says:
"Torabisu's work is fresh, but old school in almost every way. He's still making the most of film in a way that almost makes me think it's worth the effort to break out my old SLR. His night shots are amazing, but he brings a fresh approach to almost everything he shoots. Looking at some of his shots I'm reminded of something that stuck with me from my first photography class over 25 years ago. I think it was talking about BW landscape photos, but it holds for all: "The best shots preserve and create a sense of the space they capture, but they also transform the space into a way of seeing that only the camera and film can do." At his best, Torabisu does this, and if you take the time to look through his stream, you'll see he does it pretty consistently."

"Torabisu is the best photographer on Flickr. Don't believe me? I don't blame you, I haven't even seen 1/5 of them so claiming that would be pure bogus.
He shoots slide though, and his treatments are super duper kaluper cool. I shoot with him regularly and I'm regularly jealous with the photos that he comes up with in comparison.
He's a pretty decent fellow, I strongly suggest you peruse his photos, they're well worth it, and he's only getting better."13th November, 2005
