Mental Beast is an unprecedented collaboration between Vancouver's ever growing creative communities. From established artists such as Steve Bays from Hot Hot Heat and Nardwaur the Human Serviette to emerging artists such as Lightning Dust and The Sunday Service, Mental Beast has brought together Vancouver artists in a way that only Christmas is capable of.

Mental Beast is a an innovative 12-episode comedy series that spans 2 mediums, with 2 totally distinct show formats -- audio and video. It tells the story of KRML, a radio station on the verge of collapse, by bouncing between the audio episodes of a radio show called Mental Beast and video episodes depicting the station's behind-the-scenes exploits.

Mental Beast is more than just a comedy series, though, it's also a double album compilation featuring 30 of Vancouver's best indie bands writing their own and interpreting traditional holiday songs. Many of the bands are interviewed on the fictional radio show and, additionally, their compilation tracks serve as the soundtrack to the web-series.

The series will be released everyday from December 7th until December 18th, when Mental Beast will culminate with a holiday fundraiser at the Biltmore Cabaret. All proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

Over the next few months as the Olympics approach, the world will be looking at Vancouver. Mental Beast is a project indicative of the collective creativity that our city has to offer.
