Hello and welcome to my profile page. Thank you for your interest in my pictures.

I am an engineer by profession and a photography enthusiast. I have been a photographer since I was a teenager. These days I shoot exclusively digital, with Leica, Nikon, Zeiss and Sony gear.

I have been a member of flickr since the end of 2009. I came here to share and learn. I have made many wonderful friends and met some very smart photographers with amazing creativity and impressive technique. I have learned much, and I hope I am also contributing something interesting back to the community.

One thing I am amused by - I see a lot of people chasing comments. Frankly, I find it a little silly to see so many comments like "Ooh, what a beautiful bokeh", just because there was a point of light out of focus in the background in an image.

I often see some users who post rather ordinary pictures that generate 80-100 comments within a day or two. This seems to me like becoming a member of a laughter track group that moves around together, with the entire group erupting in applause every time somebody opens his or her mouth. This can't be real, and I think people who are addicted to this kind of automatic mutual admiration need a life.

I try to build more serious relationships, and when I post a comment, I try to provide some serious feedback. Likewise, I invite you to comment on my pictures if you find something interesting, constructive or even critical. I will value your feedback.
