O MOTELx - Festival Internacional de Cinema de Terror de Lisboa é um espaço de convívio e descoberta pensado para todos os que procuram novos autores, novos filmes, novas abordagens ao género, em suma, novas experiências.

Sem dogmas nem preconceitos, a programação coloca ao alcance do público português uma selecção dos filmes que mais entusiasmo têm suscitado nos quatro cantos do mundo nos últimos tempos, e em todas as variantes possíveis - do sobrenatural ao gore, do terror psicológico ao monster movies, das grandes produções aos independentes, do clássico ao experimental, do culto às novas tendências.

No MOTELx a experiência do Terror é plena, e para além de se verem filmes inéditos entre nós, é o sítio onde se conhecem os realizadores em carne e osso, se participa em masterclasses orientadas por mestres vivos e se assiste à competição do único Prémio de Curtas de Terror Portuguesas.

Desde 2011 o MOTELx pertence à Federação Europeia de Festivais de Cinema Fantástico (EFFFF, sigla em inglês).

MOTELx - Lisbon International Horror Film Festival is an event for fraternizing and discovery, set-up for all those that are permanently looking for new auteurs, new films, new looks into the genre, and new experiences.

Without any kind of dogma or preconceptions, the program offers to the audience a selection of the films that have generated the most enthusiastic reactions all around the world in the last couple of years, in all possible variations of the genre – from supernatural to gore, from psychological horror to the monster movie, from blockbuster to indie, from classic to experimental, from cult to new tendencies.

Inside MOTELx the horror experience is full, and besides offering the opportunity to watch films unreleased in Portugal, it is the place to get to know the directors in person, to participate in masterclasses presented by living masters, and to follow the exciting competition of the only Prize for the Best Portuguese Horror Short Film.

In 2011 MOTELx has joined the European Fantastic Film Festival Federation (EFFFF) as an adherent member.
