Although I’ve been taking photos for the past 25 years or so, it wasn’t until I bought a digital SLR camera in September of 2008 that I truly took steps toward understanding some the basics of photography such as lighting, composition and depth of field. Since that time, a hobby has been slowly evolving into a passion.
Most of the images displayed were originally created as expressions of an idea or concept presented as a learning challenge. These challenges are part of a on-line photography group that encourages the development of photographic skills and a basic understanding of photographic style. Over time, this approach has taugh me to see more detail in the world around me and appreciate how light and shadow define space.
I enjoy the simplicity of black and white images and tend toward stronger colors in color photography (for now). Digital photography, and the latitude that post processing provides, allows me to tease out alternate expressions of an image.

I started on Flickr a year ago not knowing anyone and well his work was the first to catch my eye. I know it sounds "stalkerish" but I really enjoyed his images and some of the first groups I joined was because I followed him in.
A year later my secret is out (I confessed), but I continue to admire his work, his imagination is inspiring, I often find myself just waiting to see what he will come up with next.
